The Pearl Monument

Symbolizing Doha’s main square, it reflects Qatar’s pre-oil economy based on pearl fishing.

Illuminated at night, it offers a stunning view opposite numerous skyscrapers.

Souq Waqif

This old open-air market has a labyrinth of alleys, offering souvenirs, textiles, spices, and cafes.

Preserving traditional Qatari architecture, it’s best visited at sunset or later. Inside Souq Waqif is Al Koot Fort, now a museum showcasing handicrafts, fishing gear, boats, historical photos, and paintings.

The Pearl-Qatar

Qatar’s most exclusive area features everything from Ferrari showrooms to designer stores and luxurious towers.

For lovers of luxury and artificial creations, The Pearl is a top attraction, with its northern Qanat Quartier resembling Venice, complete with colorful buildings, bridges, and canals.

Corniche Promenade

This waterfront walkway connects the old city’s southern bay to the modern West Bay. It offers a beautiful view of the skyscrapers.

The adjacent green space is popular for picnics and walks.

West Bay

Home to Qatar’s iconic skyscrapers, the area is spectacular at night. Renowned hotels like Sheraton, Hilton, and Four Seasons line the waterfront.

Reachable via red metro line to DECC station.

Katara

Between West Bay and The Pearl, Katara Cultural Village showcases regional architectural heritage in an innovative way. It hosts theaters, galleries, concerts, and exhibitions.

Aspire Park

Doha’s largest park in the west, ideal for walks and picnics. It features Doha’s only lake, pathways, playgrounds, and cafes. Khalifa International Stadium, renovated for the 2022 World Cup, is also located here.

Accessible via the gold metro line to Al Aziziyah station.

The Torch Doha

This unique 5-star hotel is noteworthy for its restaurant’s panoramic views. The Three Sixty Restaurant on the 47th floor offers a 360-degree view of the city.

Villaggio Mall

Located in Aspire Park, this large shopping center is designed with a Venetian theme, complete with canals and gondola-like boats.

Dhow Cruising

Traditional boats offer stunning views of the illuminated city. Short 20-minute rides and longer dinner cruises are available. Boats are docked near the Islamic Museum; prices may vary with group size, so feel free to bargain.

Museums

Museum of Islamic Art

One of Doha’s most beautiful and important museums, accessible from Corniche Promenade.

The building itself is an architectural marvel. The city-facing side features a 45-meter-tall glass window overlooking modern Doha’s skyscrapers.

The globally significant collection showcases Islamic artifacts from around the world, not all religious. The exhibits include gold eagles studded with rubies from India, Ottoman-era pointed iron helmets, and valuable Persian ceramics.

National Museum of Qatar

Designed by renowned French architect Jean Nouvel, this visually stunning museum is one of the world’s largest. It celebrates Qatar’s cultural heritage and preserves local traditions like sailing, pearl fishing, trade, and fishing.

With 11 galleries, an artificial lagoon, and the restored palace of Sheikh Abdullah bin Jassim Al Thani, the museum is a treasure trove.

Mathaf: Arab Museum of Modern Art

The museum’s history began in the 1990s when Sheikh Hassan bin Mohamed bin Ali Al Thani started collecting modern Arab art, laying the foundation for a museum collection.

Featuring over six thousand works from the 1840s to the present, Mathaf showcases the artistic directions and centers of the past century and a half.

The 5500-square-meter facility includes exhibition halls, a café, a museum shop, a library, and an educational wing.
